Oh! Oh! Oh! . . .forgot to tell you about a cool thing (no pun intended)
about some of the Alpha boards out there. . .
Some use third wire attached to fan, attached to the heatsink. This fan
senses whether or not if the fan is working. If the fan doesn't work, no
boot!
The system, more or less, is disabled from being powered up.
After all, the last thing that you want to see after rendering that complex
scene is smoldering wires and puddle of plastic! :^)
